Official Section (SOF)

This section features European production films, produced after
January 1 , 2010 with unprecedented in Spain in terms of commercial exhibition and
preferably not exhibited in other festivals.

EFA- The European Selection’11

Included in this section are those fiction films that shape the
European cinema scene of 2011 and which have been selected and nominated by the European Film Academy for the European Film Awards of the year. It has a competitive character.
Those films that have been commercially released in
Spanish territory are out of the competition .

Eurimages

Section consisting of films co-financed with funds from the Eurimages program, produced after 1 January 2010. It has a competitive character. Those films that have been commercially released in Spanish territory are out of the competition.

Eurodoc

Contest in this section, documentary films of European production, produced
after January 1, 2010, lasting more than 70 minutes, unpublished in our
country.

First Film First / Eye on Films

This section is made up of feature films directed by new directors, which integrates the films of the Eye on Films project, which is supported by the Media Mundus program. Includes feature films produced after January 1, 2010.

Russian Film Festival

Special section dedicated to the cinematography of a European country. This year focused on the Russian film industry.

Panorama Andaluz

Sample of the most recent audiovisual productions made in Andalusia and with the participation of Andalusian companies.

Art (Fiction)

Once again, the ARTE Channel collaborates with the Seville European Film Festival, offering a selection of films always marked by the high quality of its contents.

Europe Junior

The children and youth cycle Europa Junior is conceived as an activity parallel to the Festival with which we aspire to facilitate the encounter between the current European cinema and the Escuela. Cinear Zone will be the headquarters of Europa Junior where they will be projected 5 feature films and 1 production documentary Quality programs covering a wide range of current topics on which to reflect and debate in the classroom.

Europa Junior will be held from November 7 to 11 in the Cine Cinema multiplex area in the morning with passes of each film at 10.00 and 12.00.

History (s) of the Cinema

SEFF’11 immerses itself in the history of cinema with a new section that contextualizes the seventh art in Europe, delving into particular aspects of the history of cinema and its great directors, and which premieres in Seville seven documentary films that have as nexus of Union his concern for the origins of the seventh art, with a special stop in the first decades of the twentieth century in Spain

The European Film Festival of Sevilla (SEFF) will recognize this year the trajectory of one of the most outstanding Russian directors, Nikita Mikhalkov, who will receive the Tribute to his entire career on November 10 in recognition of his film career.
